I started writing this “About” page in the third person, but it felt too awkward.  Maybe it’s a step on the entrepreneurial journey.  More likely, it’s the sense that people will roll their eyes while reading an adjective-laden bio written by myself about myself in the third person.

Sam Ushio doesn’t like to write about himself in the third-person.

Here’s my 25 years of experience:

  • Strategy
  • Management Consulting
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Advertising

I’ve lived & worked in the US and Canada.

I’ve created stuff that works. I’ve created A LOT of stuff that didn’t work.

I’ve learned from both.

I grew up in Alliance, Nebraska, a small town known for a replica of Stonehenge made out of cars.    Yes, Carhenge!

I’m half-Japanese and half-Irish.

If you’re keeping track, that’s a Japanese-Irish guy from small town Nebraska.

The story of food inspires me:

 Niki.  Alex.  Ivan.

(Be careful with the Ivan Ramen video…)

I read 1/2 of a book and then get distracted.  I sincerely hope that authors put their good stuff into the first half because of this “squirrel” tendency. Try to read Catch-22 and you’ll know my struggle.

I live in Seattle and appreciate it for so.  many.  reasons.

I’m a husband to an amazing wife and a father to three amazing kids. They’re the best thing in my life.  I’m incredibly blessed.

Music and Life by Alan Watts anchors my life philosophy.

I pride myself on a genuine, sincere desire to empower all to discover + live their IKIGAI

I’m here to hear.

(actually “listen”…but that doesn’t sound as catchy).
